What I love about white, whether for my furniture or materials, is the freshness and purity it brings to a home. Take any room in your home which needs freshening up. Repaint the walls white. You will immediately give it new life! Even though this might make you hesitate to repaint it another colour.

I myself would find it hard to live with only white walls. But I must say I always relish the brilliance and radiance of very light-coloured or even completely white rooms.

Contemporary furnishings

I love glossy furniture. I enjoy its shine and lustre.

So I immediately fell in love with one of Gautier's new collections which combines lacquer and white: the Alisa adult bedroom. It was love at first sight! I discovered it in the latest catalogue. It has everything I love. It's gorgeous. The design is simple but you can see the attention to detail, for example with this prism-like pattern which is repeated on several pieces. That's what makes the difference!

My dream furniture

Flicking through the pages, I also fell in love with this pedestal table. It is discreet but designer, and incorporates the pattern I mentioned just before. It makes a change from the more traditional bedside tables.

As it is completely independent of the bed, I can imagine also using it as a low side table.

Anyway, the white bedroom is gorgeous, so why not? Now I just have to convince my husband...
