NF ENVIRONNEMENT
The NF Environnement mark is a voluntary certification mark issued by AFAQ AFNOR Certification (a subsidiary of the AFNOR certification group).
This mark, which was created in 1991, is the official French ecological certification and is awarded to products having a reduced environmental impact.
NF Environnement offers a double guarantee: Quality in use and ecological quality.
It ensures that environmental impact is taken into account throughout the product’s life cycle.
The product must comply with precise specifications, especially those dealing with the environment.
It can apply to all kinds of products except for pharmaceutical and food products, services and the automobile sector.
These criteria are the result of negotiations between representatives of manufacturers, voluntary associations and public bodies. This ecological seal of approval is awarded by an independent third party.

FCBA
The FCBA was created in 1952, to meet the needs of professionals, being a tool providing a service to companies in the wood and home furnishings sectors. It covers research and development, information about technical assistance, training, standardisation and certification.
From the beginning, its task has been to promote technical progress, help to improve output and guarantee quality in the industry. It has the status of an industrial technical centre. It is part of the CTI (industrial. technical centre) network.

VIA
The role of the VIA : Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement, is to encourage and promote French creativity in the home furnishings sector (furniture, lighting, tableware, interior decor, floor coverings, furnishing textiles etc.) both in France and abroad.
Its action programme covers the whole profession: manufacturing groups, small and medium-sized companies, craftspeople, publishers, distributors, and creative professions.

ISO 14001ISO 14001 is the most often used of the ISO 14000 standards series which is concerned with
environmental management.
It was drawn up by the ISO - the “International Organization for Standardization†– whose title is automatically used to define standards.
An organisation can have its environmental management system certified under this standard, by accredited third party bodies such as the French Association for Quality Assurance (AFAQ) for example, in France.
The contribution that standards make to our daily life is very often imperceptible. Their importance is shown when something goes wrong either in the product’s reliability, it becomes dangerous or it lowers health and safety procedures in our work environment, and also the environmental impact of our operations
