Eco-design, an ongoing approach
Gautier eco-design: a natural human commitment for the environment.
The group Gautier France, as a civically responsible company, has a long established policy in favour of sustainable development. See more about our commitments to the environment in the video below.
Gautier Environmental Protection Policy
Our commitment outlined in 7 points:
1. DESIGN
From the very first design stage, our development teams take into account several criteria to keep the the future product's impact on the environment to a minimum.
2. RAW MATERIALS
We select our materials to minimize our impact on the environment. The wood for our particleboard comes from sustainably managed forests or from recycled wood cut-offs.
3. PRODUCTION
97% of our production waste is re-used. The wood shavings are used for heating fuel to reduce our consumption of non sustainable resources. Some of the cut-offs are also used to make the particleboard. Gautier is the first furniture manufacturer in France to have obtained triple certification: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
4. PACKAGING
Our packaging is carefully selected. Our boxes contain at least 50% recycled cardboard. All our packaging complies with European standards.
5. TRANSPORT
We source locally whenever possible: we make our own particleboard on our production site, which considerably reduces the transport of our main raw material.
Optimisation of means of transport: we optimise our delivery routes and load our vans without using pallets to minimise the number of journeys.
6. USAGE
Say NO to disposable furniture! Quality hallmarked by Gautier.
Our furniture has a 5 year warranty and lasts a long time. With the mounting instructions you can dismantle your furniture and put it back together, house move after house move, without damaging it.
7. RECYCLING FURNITURE
At the design stage, we make sure that furniture components can be easily recycled. The different materials that make up our furniture can easily be separated.
And now, adopt yourself the eco-attitude !
